Nicole extended her overall
series lead with another impressive ride, whilst her main
rivals failed to make an impact.
T-Mobile's Judith Arndt and Ina Teutenberg both finished at
the back of the field collecting no points, whilst the 2004
and 2005 winner Oneone Wood collected just 10.
Nicole escaped with Susanne Ljunskog after 8 of 11 laps. The
local Swedish rider was semmingly more interested in the win
on home soil than overall World Cup points and sat on Nicole
for the final 13km before taking the sprint for the victory
by a length.
Ljunskog moves into third overall but more than 150 points
behind Nicole who's overall lead over Arndt going into round
9 is 99 points.
The gap between the two races is just one day, with a Team
Time Trial next up in Denmark.

"I'm
really proud of that performance. I can understand that
Susanne (Ljunskog) wanted to win in her home race, and it
was in my interest to push the break hard all the way to
gain World Cup points."
"Even though she didn't contribute for the final dozen
or so kilometres she still only just beat me in the sprint."
"I've extended my lead in the series overall though,
and I've every confidence in my team mates that we can do
a good Team Time Trial on Sunday in Denmark as we look to
build on a very good season for Univega-Raleigh-Lifeforce
so far. Let's hope it continues!"
