Nicole was the third last rider to start over the 26.1 km
course and finished with the fifth best time behind Kristin
Armstrong of the USA. Her Univega team mates Karin Thüring
and Priska Doppman were 2nd and 4th.
A strong performance put her in a potential race winning break
on the final lap, but with only one of her two breakaway companions
prepared to work the trio were caught by 12 others.
