Despite the delay caused by bad weather, nothing could stop Nicole winning her 8th British Road Race title, and her 7th consecutive victory in this race.

The original 2007 event was postponed at the end of June because of flooding in Yorkshire, and the weather was still extremely wet for this rescheduled 70 miles around the roads of Essex.

On the third of 5 laps Nicole decided to add her weight to an attempted break, and a group of 7 riders qucikly built up a lead of three minutes.

Then on the final lap Nicole upped the pressure once again and this time none of her 6 breakaway companions were able to hang on to her wheel, and she soloed to victory by almost a minute.
