A largely flat Netherlands
course incorporating several cobbled sections and one short
sharp (man-made!) climb of around 700m with the steepest
section at 23%.
It was the third climb up the 'Vamberg' that brought the
significant break, World Champion Marriane Vos going over
first followed by Nicole as a group of six got an advantage,
with Visser and Vos giving Dutch team DSB Bank a numerical
advantage they would use to take 1st and 3rd.
The chasing pack were able to catch most of these riders
just before the finale, but it was two riders from those
half a dozen that stayed away to dispute the win, home rider
Adrie Visser taking the sprint from France's Elodie Toufet.
Nicole crossed the line at the front of the group crossing
the line in 7th to collect 21 points and take her World
Cup series total to 171, a lead of 96 after 3 of 9 rounds.
